60+ Years of Complex Construction in Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

The genesis of JC Beal Construction LLC was a firm founded by Eugene Kurtz in 1962. Jim Beal, one of the original employees, positioned himself to take over the company in 1978. The firm quickly became known for quality products, reasonable costs, reliable scheduling, and exceptional in-house tradespeople.

Fred J. Beal, current president, began his career with his father as a carpenter in 1980. His brother George joined in 1987 with a degree in building construction and extensive large-project experience. Together, they've grown JC Beal into a comprehensive construction firm capable of managing the most complex projects while maintaining the business principles established decades ago.

Why JC Beal Construction

We handle complexity that others can't

Since 1962, our specialty has been the projects others walk away from — complex downtown renovations, historically sensitive restorations, multi-building fire restorations, and large institutional builds. Complexity is what we do best.

Historic preservation expertise

We are a trusted partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, with hands-on experience navigating the requirements of historical restoration. We know what's required — and we get it done correctly the first time.

Emergency response in hours, not days

Our 24/7 emergency fire damage hotline is staffed around the clock. When your property has been damaged, every hour matters. We are on-site fast, working with your insurer from day one.

60+ years of institutional relationships

Our client list includes Henry Ford, NTHP, the City of Ypsilanti, and other leading Michigan institutions. Our track record speaks for itself — and it's built on referrals from the clients we've served.
